Abstract

Speaking is the most attractive skill among others (Listening, Reading,Writing). In speaking, students are given the opportunity to develop their ability in an attractive. According to Herrel and Jordan (2008:85), speaking gives students confidence to interact and collaborate with other students. Teaching means giving the instruction to a person, giving a person knowledge, skills, etc while learning means an activity of someone to improve their behavior, knowledge, skills so until becomes a better person. In this research focuses on speaking because speaking skill is important to many for students who are
involved in the spoken language.
This research is A Classroom Action Research which is aimed to Improving Speaking Skill by Using One Minute Talk Technique. This research was conducted in one cycle. the subject of this study were students of Eleventh Grade particulary in science class. The number of the subjects was twenty students. The instrumen which were used to collect the data are speaking test, field notes, and observation checklist. In this study the researcher focused on improve students speaking by using one minute talk technique because it is an important indicator of this research and analysed the notes from indirect observation, field notes and video recordings.
Finding showed the Improving Speaking Skill By using One Minute Talk Technique.In this study the researcher do two tests were carried out, speaking skill in accuracy pronounciation in the test I students got 1,9, and test II got 2 and for vocabulary in th test I got 2,25 and test II got 3, grammar in the test 1 students got 2,35 and test II got 3,05 and comprehension in the test I students got 2,45 and the test II got 3,1 speaking skill in fluency pauses in the test I students got 2,25 and test II got 3 and hesitation in the test I students got 2,2 and test II got based on the analysis in the finding the researcher concluded that there was a significant improvement on students’ Speaking Skill by Using One Minute Talk Technique at the Eleventh Grade of SMA Negeri 2 Mempawah Hulu.
