Abstract
Improving Students‟ Ability in Writing Descriptive Text
using Clustering Technique ( A Classroom Action Research to the Eighth
Grade of MTs. Nurul Iman Sungai Pandan )This research aimed to find out how can Clustering Technique improve
students‟ writing ability in descriptive text to the eighth grade of MTs. Nurul Iman
Sungai Pandan in the academic year of 2016/2017. This classroom action research
was done in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four actions; they were planning,
acting, observing and reflecting. Then, the subject of research was the students in
the eighth grade consisted of 33 students where 10 male and 23 female.
This research used observation and measurement as the technique of
collecting data. In collected the data, the researcher used qualitative and
quantitative data. The qualitative data were taken from observation checklist and
field note while quantitative data were taken from the students‟ writing test. Then,
in analyzed the data the researcher used qualitative analysis data and quantitative
analysis data
