Abstract
This is a research about the use of Guided Writing technique in teaching
recount text writing to the eighth grade students of SMP BP Haruniyah Pontianak
timur in academic year 2015/2016.
The purpose of conducting this research is to answer the research
questions which are, “is the use of guided writing technique effective in teaching
writing recount text at the eighth grade students of SMP BP Haruniyah Pontianak
Timur in academic year 2015/2016 ? and How effective is the use of guided
writing technique in teaching writing recount text at the eighth grade students of
Haruniyah Pontianak Timur in academic year 2015/2016 ?
The form of this research is pre-experimental study. The data had been
collected by using measurement technique. The tool of data colleting was written
test, in which the students were asked to write a recount text by the help of guided
Writing technique.The sample of this research was 37 students from class VIII B.
The findings of this research writing has significant effectivenessfor
teaching writing recount text to the eighth grade students of SMP BP Haruniyah
Pontinak timur. The students significant score increased significantly after given
the treatment for to times through guided writing. In other word it can be stated
that guided writing can be used as teaching to help the students increase their
writing ability
