Abstract
This study aims to find out the most common problems faced by students in
teaching writing English. This research uses descriptive qualitative design and
was conducted at IKIP PGRI Pontianak. This study used a sample in one of the
classes in the second semester of English study program students totaling 20
students.
The results of the study were collected using questionnaires. The results of
the research were collected using a questionnaire and showed that the aspect that
most often appears in writing is how students integrate learning to write in their
surroundings. these results indicate that students do not experience too much
difficulty in uniting learning to write and the surrounding environment. the
highest result of students choosing to agree as much as 55.75%. and the results of
students choosing strongly disagree as much as only 4%
Based on this study, it was found that students generally did not have
significant problems with grammar and writing. the role of the teacher or students
is very important in carrying out this learning to further increase students'
motivation to write.
