Abstract

Vocabulary is an important component in language development since it is the component that builds sentences into a language that is used in everyday life. Effective vocabulary learning requires a comprehensive understanding of various components including meaning, spelling, word usage and pronunciation. The aim from this research was to know how the use of Emoji Flashcard can improve the vocabulary mastery of young learners in English Village of Parit Baru. This research was conducted using Classroom Action method which includes 2 cycles. The research lasted for one month with a duration of four meetings where each cycle lasted two meetings.
The findings of this research is the use of Emoji Flashcard media was able to improve the vocabulary mastery of young learners’ in English Village of Parit Baru, this is shown from the acquisition of a mean score and the classroom
situation that clearly indicates the improvement that occurred. In the first cycle the mean score was 59 compared to the increase that occurred in the second cycle the
mean score was 84. The improvement of the classroom situation can be seen from the students’ behavior that is more active during the lesson. The results obtained by the researchers prove that the Emoji Flashcard surely can improve the vocabulary mastery of young learners’ in English Village of Parit Baru.
