Abstract

Teaching Reading Comprehension on Narrative Text By
Using PORPE (A-Pre-Experimental Research To The Eleventh Grade Of SMA
Negeri 04 Sungai Raya In The Academic Year Of 2016/2017)
This research aimed at answering two research problems that are ―Is PORPE
effective in teaching reading comprehension on narrative text to the eleventh
grade students of SMA Negeri 04 Sungai Raya?‖ and ―How far is the
effectiveness of PORPE in teaching reading comprehension on narrative text to
the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 04 Sungai Raya?‖.
The method of this research is called pre experimental study. The
population was the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 04 Sungai Raya in the
academic year of 2016/2017. The sample was taken from class XI IPA that
consisted of 35 students. The data of this research are collected by using
measurement technique that was a written test in form of multiple choice to
measure the students’ achievement of reading comprehension.
