Abstract
This study aims to investigate pre-service teacher’s perceptions of autonomous leaners in the students teacher candidates at IKIP PGRI Pontianak in the academic year 2023/2024. The total sample of were 113 students teacher candidates were taken by simple random sampling technique.The research design in descriptive qualitative. This research was used an online questionnaire using a google from and semi-structured interview. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data questionnaire and the data form interviews were analyzed using the flow model by Miles and Huberman.There are 13 questions in the questionnaire related to this study. It intends to explore information related to how much pre-service teachers understand and what their perception of autonomous leaners of 113 students teacher candidates. Is that the results obtained that participants understand the concept of autonomous leaners but the lack of application of autonomous leaners in teaching and learning activities.The researchers in this study suggest that in the of 113 requires a deep understanding of autonomous learners by pre-service teachers to prepare the teaching-learning process in the class by using autonomous learners.
