Abstract

This classroom action research (CAR) aims to investigate how Canva can improve students' reading skills. The subjects of this study were 29 class XI students of SMAN 2 Sungai Kakap for the 2022/2023 academic year. Researchers used two
types of data analysis in research, namely qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained from observation sheets and field notes during the learning process in class, while quantitative data were obtained using students' reading tests. In this study there were cycle I and cycle II, each cycle consisting of 2 meetings. The average students' reading test results in cycle I were 72 which were then continued to cycle II so that there was an increase in average students' reading test results to 86.
This indicated an improvement in the students' reading skills in class XI IPS II. In addition, in the cycle 2 writing test, students showed a significant increase in scores compared to the cycle 1 writing test, which highlights the improvement in students' writing skills due to the use of Canva.
