Abstract
This research was conducted to find out how to improve students' speaking skills by using Canva midia in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The subjects in this study were the eleventh grade students of SMAS Hidayatul Muhsinin, totaling 23 students. Based on the findings of the study, it is known that using Canva to learn English can improve students' speaking skills and be favorably welcomed by class XI students. They claim that utilizing Canva makes studying more enjoyable, which has piqued their interest in learning English, particularly speaking skills.
There are several tools used for data collection, namely observation sheets, field notes, and speaking tests. This study also uses qualitative analysis to analyze qualitative data and quantitative analysis to analyze quantitative data.
In this research there were two cycles where it was known that in the first cycle students still had difficulty paying attention to the explanations of researcher as teachers, some students could not answer questions given by researcher, and students seemed less active in the teaching and learning process. The student's main score in cycle I was 50.6 with poor to good categories. In the second cycle
there was an increase because students could pay attention to the teacher's explanation, students were very active in asking questions to the teacher, and students looked enthusiastic and interested in speaking skills using Canva and the student's main score in the second cycle was 63.7 which was in the average to excellent category.
Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the use of Canva in the teaching and learning process can improve students' speaking skills. the use of Canva media can also help facilitate learning English, especially in speaking skills. besides that the positive response from students also affects the teaching and learning process. the use of media canva is recommended for english teachers.
