Abstract
This systematic review aim to review the previous studies related to duolingo application to improve students’ speaking skill to seventh and eighth grade students. Thematic analysis used to review five published studies from year 2016-2019. Indirect observation employed which google scholar, research gate as the blibliographic and document analysis as the tool to manage select the studies in study selection process. The discussion of the finding showed that the students’ gain improvement through the implementation of duolingo application to improve students’ speaking skill stages. The implementation of duolingo application improved students speakill skill in term of linguistics features, content and organization, ability to pronouncition the words, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and comprehention. The students also understood the duolingo application to used. Result gave evidence that duolingo application had positive contribution to improve students speaking skill. Through the proper implementation of duolingo application to improve speaking skill stages and teaching strategies, students speaking skill could be improved.
