Abstract

Sunarto (521200018): The Use of Vocabulary Self-Collection Strategy
(VSS) to Improve Students’ Vocabulary Mastery (A Classroom Action Research
on the Seventh Grade Students of MTs. Mathla’ul Anwar Pontianak in the
Academic Year 2015/2016).
This research was aimed to find out how Vocabulary Self-Collection Strategy
(VSS) can improve students’ vocabulary mastery. This research was conducted
through classroom action research (CAR) design. The subject of this research was
the students of class VII C of MTs. Mathla’ul Anwar Pontianak consisted of twenty
five students with all of them were female.
This research was used observation and measurement as the technique of data
collection. The tools of data collection were observation checklist, field note and
vocabulary test. Then, the data analysis used in this research was qualitative
analysis to analyse qualitative data and quantitative analysis to analyse quantitative
data.
