Abstract
This qualitative research was conducted to determine the implementation using translated local legend to teaching students of english village of temajuk. The subjects of this study were active students of class IV and V Kampung English Desa Temajuk. The sample was selected using purposeful sampling.
The technique data collection technique used in this study was field notes and documentation. Field notes as a tool to collect data, this is considered important so that standard criteria for reporting qualitative research encourage researchers to include field notes collection statements in manuscripts Documentation is a way to collect data and information such as documents, images, audio, video and information that supports research
Results of data analysis show that using translated local legend to teaching English has benefit for students because they had the opportunity to listen to and perform local legend in English and motivated them to practice their English more actively and often.There are some advantages in teaching English through legend like various activities in the classroom, fun, and alive, also the young learners be active and confidence. Then, legend can improve the young learner‟s skill in memorizing new words and pronouncing clearly. Using legend as the activity in teaching English help the teacher to build an active and interesting class.
