Abstract

This qualitative research was conducted to determine the implementation of the use of cartoons used in learning English in the English Village of Parit Nanas. The subjects of this study were students from the English Village of Parit Nanas. The sample was selected by using purposeful sampling. Tools of Data Collection used in this study were interviews, field notes and worksheets. Interview is a tool as a process of information for research purposes by means of question and answer while face to face between the researcher and the object of research. Interviews usually strengthen trust, recognized standards of activity and to find out one's reasoning. Field notes as a tool for collecting data, this is considered important so that the standard criteria for reporting qualitative research encourage researchers to include a statement of collection of field notes in the text, information that supports research. The results of data analysis showed that the function of cartoon for students is very good in English learning. This process is one of the complements to teaching and learning for students as textbooks. Student learning outcomes after applying the use of cartoon in the teaching and learning process are very good and help students' In Learning English.
