Abstract
This qualitative research aimed to determine the implementation of translated local songs to teaching students of English village of Air Putih. The subjects of this study were active students of primary school. The sample was selected using purposeful sampling. Observation using field notes and documentation in the form video, recording, picture, and worksheet was applied to collect the data. The results of data analysis revealed that using translated local song to teaching English gives sort of benefits to students. Incorporating translated traditional song to English Village in Air Putih successfully created relaxing and entertaining the classroom. There was a positive noticeable change in students, particularly on their motivation to learn English during the activity. Moreover, songs can help the young learner in memorizing new words easily and pronouncing clearly. Local songs contained simple words and sentence structure or pattern which is very authentic and close to their surroundings, that can become
set in their mind.
