Abstract

This study aims to determine Tertiary EFL Students' Perceptions Towards The Use Of Project-Based Learning at Ikip Pgri Pontianak. The type of this research is qualitative research, with the treatment which the researcher gave some questions to the Tertiary EFL Students of English Education Study Program in Ikip Pgri Pontianak related to their perceptions towards the use of Project�Based Learning (PjBL) of learning 3 courses namely Introduction To Thesis Writing and Data Collection and Analysis and Educational research statistics (Statistik Penelitian Pendidikan) and the three courses can be said to be research�based subject in Ikip Pgri Pontianak.
The Data was collected from 10 of the sixth-semester Students of A morning class of English Education Study Program in the academic year of 2021/2022. The technique of data collection used in this research was indirect communication in the form of semi-structured-interview and the tool was interview guidance. The data analysis used in this research was descriptive qualitative, used thematic analysis.
The results of this study are in order to find out how are the Tertiary EFL Students’ Perceptions Towards the use of Project-Based Learning. The perceptions of the sixth-semester students of English Education Study Program at
Ikip Pgri Pontianak based on what the researcher found lead to a positive side, PjBL learning model was helpful for students at the tertiary level because it can boost students’ motivation, creativity, self-confidence, time management, critical in thinking and collaboration at this institution for most students is that they have a meaningful learning experiences through PjBL in research-based subject.
The PjBL method trained the students to learn through a problem-solving process which was facilitated and monitored by the lecturer. The learning process in PjBL in a research-based subject class proved positive in developing the
students’ critical thinking, rebuilding social and cooperative skills, and boosting motivation and enjoyment. In this study, the suggestions are given to the lecturers,
students and campus.
